The Sabhyata Dwar, or Civilization Gate, is an impressive sandstone arch monument situated on the banks of the River Ganga in Patna, Bihar. Designed in the elegant Mauryan architectural style, the monument showcases the ancient grandeur of Pataliputra while celebrating the rich traditions and culture of Bihar. The idea for the Sabhyata Dwar was originally conceived by former Lieutenant General Srinivas Kumar Sinha. Standing at a height of 32 meters (105 feet), it surpasses the height of the Gateway of India by 6 meters (20 feet). Constructed at a cost of ₹5 crore (50 million), the structure spans an area of one acre within the grounds of the Samrat Ashok International Convention Centre.
The arches of this magnificent gate are adorned with inscriptions attributed to historical figures like Megasthenes, Ashoka, Buddha, and Mahavira, symbolizing Bihar’s deep-rooted history and cultural heritage. The monument was inaugurated by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on 21 May 2018.
Patna Museum
Patna Museum also known as Jadu Ghar is the state Museum of Bihar, India and is located just 2 km away from Gandhi Maidan. Patna Museum is one of the most famous and popular Museum in Bihar which houses more than 50,000 rare art objects .
